A folding mobility scooter collapses down far enough to go in a car boot, a coach locker or a small hotel lift.
People hire a folding model for one of two reasons. Either the hotel lift is too small for a full size scooter, or there are day trips planned and the scooter has to come along in the boot.
The trade is range and comfort. A folding machine is lighter and smaller, and it does not ride like a full size one over old paving.
Before you book a folding model
Two measurements decide whether a folding model works for you: the folded size and the weight you have to lift. Ask your hotel for the lift's internal width before you book, and be honest about what you can lift into a boot.
The two machines we carry, the Donata and the Tunder, are full size three-wheelers and do not fold. If folding is what decides it for you, say so in the request and we will tell you straight.

What stays the same
- It is still a mobility scooter under the ordinance. Pedestrian area, walking pace, contract carried while riding.
- The rider named on the contract is the only rider, folding or not.
- If your reason for folding is a small lift, measure the lift rather than the scooter. Doors are usually the problem, not the car.
