What you will be asked

  1. You tell us who is riding

    One named rider per machine. Article 134.5 allows nobody else to ride it, so we need the right name from the start.

  2. You confirm you qualify

    Aged 65 or over, or a mobility limitation. That is our rule, and article 135.b requires the hirer to establish reduced mobility or meet the minimum age.

  3. You sign a contract and keep your copy

    It is written in Spanish, Valencian and English under article 135.b, and article 134.9 says you carry your copy while riding.

Why you are being asked at all

Some firms in town have said openly that customers claim a limitation they do not have in order to get a scooter. That is the behaviour the council is acting on, and it is the reason a legitimate hirer now gets asked questions that feel intrusive.

We would rather ask them. A firm that does not ask is a firm whose contract may not stand up, and the contract is the thing you are required to be carrying.

Yes. The ordinance regulates who may hire and how firms must operate. It does not ban hire, and it does not treat visitors differently from residents.
What proof of a mobility limitation do I need?
