To the Market by Mobility Scooter
Market day is one of the few trips where a scooter beats walking outright: you can carry the shopping home.
The map shows where the markets are, and under it are the days OpenStreetMap records for them. A market day is exactly the kind of fact that changes and then gets repeated wrongly online for years, so treat those days as a starting point until the council has confirmed them.
Where the market is
What is mapped as a marketplace in Benidorm: Mercat Municipal de Benidorm, Mercadillo Pueblo, Mercat setmanal de Foietes. Those are the locations, taken from the map on 7 September 2026.
The top box is the part people forget. Shopping has to go somewhere, and a lockable box on the back is the difference between a trip to the market and a trip past it.
What the map records about the days
| Market | Day | Hours |
|---|---|---|
| Mercadillo Pueblo | Sunday | 09:00-14:00 |
| Mercat setmanal de Foietes | Wednesday | 8:00-13:30 |
These are the opening hours recorded in OpenStreetMap on 7 September 2026, not the council's own notice. A market day is exactly the kind of fact that gets copied wrong and left for years, so treat it as a starting point and ring ahead if the morning matters.
What we still need to confirm
Two things: the days and hours confirmed by the council rather than read off the map, and the approach itself, meaning which route avoids the worst of the traffic and where you can leave a machine safely while you shop.
This information follows shortly.
Parking a scooter at a market
Article 134.7 is the one that matters on a market morning. Do not park where you block people or a doorway, which in a crowded market street takes some thinking about.
And article 134.2 still applies: walking pace, on the pedestrian area. Through a market that is not a hardship.
