Poniente and the Parks by Mobility Scooter
Poniente is the quieter half of Benidorm: about 1.7 km of mapped promenade on the western beach, with the parks on the flat ground behind it.
If Levante was too busy, this is the alternative rather than the consolation prize. Same sea, fewer people, and somewhere green to stop halfway.
What the map shows
The seafront runs west from below the old town towards La Cala, about 1.7 km of mapped way.
The map records the surface as paving stones. That is a label about the material, not a judgement about how it rides.
The parks sit behind the promenade on the flat, which is the whole reason this pairing works: you can go out along the sea and come back through the green without climbing anything.
Distances are computed from the OpenStreetMap geometry of 7 September 2026. It is the summed length of the ways mapped as that promenade, not the length of one continuous ride.
What we have not ridden yet
A park being on the map says nothing about whether you can get into it, or get round it once you have.
Still to come: which park paths are actually rideable and whether their entrances have a step or a barrier; which crossing between the seafront and the parks is the easiest, and whether its kerbs are dropped; and where the shade and the benches are, which in July matters more than the distance does.
This information follows shortly.
